St Peters Terrace

Full renovation managed remotely for a busy interstate family.

The Details

A tired early 2000s rental became a move-in ready family home.

The owners were living interstate, time poor, and renovating for the first time.

We managed the renovation end to end, so they could relocate back to Sydney and move straight in.

  • Early 2000s terrace, previously tenanted

  • Busy professional couple with young family, relocating back to Sydney

  • Full service interior design

  • Kitchen, living, dining, entry, powder, laundry, main bathroom, primary ensuite, facade, rear patio and outdoor kitchen

  • Custom joinery throughout, automation for window treatments, full lighting and electrical plan, spatial rework and structural changes

This home was functional enough to rent, but not functional enough to live in. Wear and tear, builder grade finishes, and a layout that didn’t support a growing family.

The clients needed a clear plan and a calm process.

They were interstate, time poor, and didn’t want to manage trades, timelines, selections, or procurement remotely.

Our role: clarity, direction, and full project management from concept to keys.

The Solutions

  • Spatial planning and reconfiguration

  • Builder ready documentation

  • Full custom joinery package across the home

  • Lighting and electrical planning

  • Window treatments with automation

  • Procurement and coordination

  • End to end management for a remote client

Design Philosophy

The design decisions here were not cosmetic.
They were about making the home work for a growing family, delivered remotely with a clear process.

Kitchen

Before

U-shape layout with dead corners, limited pantry space, one-person workflow.

After

Reconfigured to an L-shape + island within the same footprint, added a full-height pantry that deleted dead corners and integrated breakfast/homework seating that supports the family’s everyday routine.

Main Bathroom

Before

Internal and dark; unsupportive of family routines.

After

Introduced an Illume skylight to mimic daylight, fit a 1300mm vanity with an offset basin, designed layered lighting.

Laundry

Before

Major constraint with a lack of space.

After

Reclaimed space from an adjacent room to expand the footprint, added full-height storage, concealed appliances.

Ensuite

Before

Needed a refresh and better flow.

After

Cosmetic upgrade with a full-length nib shelf for shower storage, improved vanity and overhead storage as well as clean, cohesive detailing across bathrooms.

Entry & Dining

Before

No meaningful storage, functioned as a "dead zone" where things piled up on the floor.

After

Full-height joinery with dedicated zones for shoes, bags, uniforms and jackets tailored for busy school mornings.

THE RESULT

A cohesive, move-in ready family home with better flow, smarter storage, and lighting that supports real routines.

Most importantly, the clients relocated back to Sydney and moved straight in.

No scrambling. No decision fatigue. No managing a renovation from a distance.
