Every spatial decision, material selection and documentation package is the result of working backwards from a brief that actually reflects how you work, rest, entertain and move through a home.

Sam’s Experience
Before Sam was designing heritage terraces in Paddington, he was working in digital transformation and human-centred design. In tech, if the logic is flawed, the system fails.
Sam understood what it meant to work backwards from the goal. This developed his own “working backwards” framework that he has consistently applied to large-scale renovations.

Every project begins with a single question: why are you doing this?
Not what tiles, not what layout - why. Before anything is designed, clients complete a guided workshop that maps the life they want the home to support. From those answers, we build a North Star document: an empathy map and a press release headlining the champagne moment - the exact feeling of walking through the door when the project is done. That statement becomes the filter for every decision that follows. We work backwards from it.
From there, we build the brief that makes it possible. Spatial requirements, scope, priorities - all derived from the outcome, not the other way around.
Your role is simple: tell us how you want to live.
Ours is to translate that into a design the builder can execute without coming back to you for answers. We are your single point of contact across the entire project - briefing the builder, managing suppliers, responding to site queries, reviewing variations. You don't coordinate between trades. You don't field calls from a site manager. You don't make decisions under pressure. We do.
Everything is managed centrally in the Convict Client Portal - every decision, every date, every conversation, every budget line in one place. No missed emails. No chasing updates. Check in at any point to see exactly where things are and what's next, or hand it over entirely and trust the process. Either way, you always know where you stand.
