It’s easy to be distracted by the view at Clovelly Court. Perched above the coastline with sweeping ocean outlooks, it had all the drama outside, but little of it inside. Our clients, entertainer Rob Mills and journalist Georgie Tunny, came to us with a clear brief: open it up, soften it, and shape a home that feels like them.

Millsy wanted a grounded, calm space. Georgie leaned into expressive mid-century tones. The goal was to let both sensibilities sit side by side, anchored by their shared love for the coast, colour, and connection.

Bright kitchen with white cabinetry, pink tile backsplash, island with seating, and large windows with a view of trees.

Reworking the Flow

Originally, the kitchen was tucked away, shut off from the light, the living space, and most tragically, that killer view. So, we created a new opening between the kitchen and living area. It’s the kind of move that doesn’t just make a home function better, it makes it feel right.

The energy shifted instantly. The kitchen became a social hub, and the whole space opened up to the sea.

I went all in on one of the boldest choices of the project: colour drenching. Walls, ceilings, joinery, the lot, wrapped in a soft, muddy pink. Not sweet. Not saccharine. Just grounded, warm, and quietly confident. In the bathrooms, a shift: hand-glazed ocean blues wrapping every surface, mirroring the sea beyond. Brave, yes. But oddly calming. And absolutely worth it.

Colour, with Courage

Bathrooms that Work Hard

In the bathroom, I leaned into ocean blues, another nod to the location. There’s ample storage, an oversized vanity, and lighting designed with Georgie’s on-camera work in mind. Tapware in aged copper adds just the right hit of patina and warmth.

A man in a beige coat standing by a window with green foliage outside, holding a tray with medicine bottles and a glass container with a candle inside.

Throughout the apartment, chevron parquetry flooring brings movement without fuss. It links each space with quiet rhythm, keeping things elegant but easy. It’s one of those details you feel before you notice.

Underfoot and Across the Line

A hallway with a wooden ladder-style towel rack holding a hat and a towel, with a hidden view of a living room with a big green plant, a bookcase, and a red crate.
Dining area with a round table, pink cushioned chairs, a white vase with colorful flowers, and a large window showing an outdoor view with trees and cloudy sky.
Living room with a gray sofa, red and striped pillows, wall art with abstract desert scene, wooden side table with magazines, beige carpet, tall floor lamp
Indoor living room with a large green leafy plant in a white pot on a small table, a wooden bookshelf filled with books, a brown armchair, a gray sofa, a wooden table with magazines and a glass, and a standing lamp.

I styled this home for real life. There are nods to Georgie and Rob’s work and personalities in every corner, but nothing feels precious. Records, linen, books, even a glass left on the bench, it’s all welcome here. The result is relaxed, confident, and quietly layered. Designed, yes, but never overdone.

Styled to Be Lived In

In the background, a wooden sideboard holds artworks, a candle, and a stack of books. A guitar is propped against the wall near a record player.
A windowsill with a vase of green fluffy flowers, two bottles of skincare products, and a white container with the word 'BAIES' on a white tray, with greenery outside the window.

Clovelly Court is what happens when two distinct voices come together and let the building, the location, and the life lived inside it guide the way. It’s soft, bold, and beautifully sure of itself.
